Kylie is raking in the big bucks with her Kylie Cosmetics company, which she is said to own entirely with a 100 percent stake. Forbes claims that the TV star has earned around $630 million from the company since its launch in 2015. Earlier this summer, the magazine also claimed Kylie was the youngest self-made billionaire with her cosmetics brand estimated to be worth close to $1 billion.
This places her in joint fifth and sixth place on the list with Jay Z, 49, who is also said to have amassed a worth of $900 million with lucrative stakes in brands like D’Usse cognac, Armand de Brignac champagne, the Tidal streaming service and Roc Nation. It’s a pretty impressive achievement for Kylie considering there’s a 28-year age gap between her and the hip hop icon.
Incredibly, Kylie is now richer than P Diddy who sits at number eight with a modest $825 million fortune, earned from his various business ventures including the Ciroc vodka brand.
Other stars who are estimated to be richer than Kylie and Jay Z, are George Lucas with $5.4 billion, Steven Spielberg with $3.7 billion, Oprah Winfrey with $2.8 billion and Michael Jordan with $1.7 billion.
Opening up on her successful beauty empire, Kylie told Forbes:
‘Social media is an amazing platform. I have such easy access to my fans and my customers. ‘I struggled for a minute with finding something to do on my own. Ever since I was in sixth grade, I would wear purple eyeshadow. I turned to makeup to help me feel more confident.’
