Bode Thomas Trends As Nigerians React To Victory Over Bafana Bafana

July 11, 2019
Bode Thomas has been trending on Twitter after the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 2-1, on Wednesday, for a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Nigerians on Twitter latched on to the name, which sounded similar to the lyrics of a popular South African song, by Master KG titled, Skeleton Move.

The song in part said, “No matter where you go/Remember the road that will lead you home/Wanetwa mos (2ce)”.

The last part of the song sounded like Bode Thomas to Nigerians and they have been linking it to the fact that the Super Eagles knew the road that the Bafana Bafana would take home.

Meanwhile, Bode Thomas is a popular street in Surulere area of Lagos State, named after a former Nigerian lawyer and politician.
